Tips For Practicing Piano Chord Voicings Print E-mail
  • Play the piano chord voicing in the right hand and the root in the left hand.
  • Play the piano chord voicing in both hands.
  • Play the piano chord through the circle of fifths, i.e. - play the chord for the following roots in this order:  C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, B, E, A, D, G.
  • Play the piano chord backwards through the circle of fifths.
  • Play the piano chord in ascending or descending half-steps.
  • Play the piano chord in ascending or descending whole-steps.
  • Play the piano chord ascending or descending with alternating half-steps and whole steps.
  • Play the piano chord ascending or descending with other intervals (don't forget to try alternating between two different types of intervals).
